Active Sync Software:

In order to install the software update on your device please make sure you have the Active Sync driver software installed.

Click here to download Active Sync from the Microsoft ® website.

Here are a few things you need to know before you begin upgrading your phone.

Battery

Make sure your phone's battery is fully charged up before you start downloading.

Personal Stuff

You'll need to save all your personal data before you start downloading. That's because the upgrade will delete personal info including software applications, T-Mobile downloads, web favourites, POP3 emails, texts and picture messages. To save it, you can use a storage card or Active Sync, which saves your data from your phone to your PC (but remember that Active Sync only saves data from Outlook such as contacts, tasks, appointments, files etc).

Email settings

Make a note of your email settings before you upgrade as they'll be lost and will need to be reconfigured.

During the upgrade

Upgrading takes about 20-30 minutes if you are using USB, but it'll take longer if you're not. During this time, don't do anything else with your PC (such as start another application like Microsoft® Word or Excel) because your phone could crash. Also, try not to let the screen saver or power save mode kick in, as this could affect your upgrade too.

Reloading applications

When it's finished, you'll need to reload your applications. So that means applications you got on a CD when you bought the device, as well as separate applications that you've bought since and loaded onto the device. And remember to restore the personal stuff you saved on a storage card or on your PC with Active Sync.
